The Department Scientific Committee, as requested by the major part of the Department personnel, has established a Work Group, composed by two representatives for each Institute, which were elected by the personnel of the Institute itself. The mission of the Work Group is the following:

"The WorkGroup has the mission to produce a document to give to the Scientific Committee about the actual situation and the perspectives of Science of Matter in Italy, and to analyse the possible scenarios deriving from the removal of the INFM stuctures from the Department and their insertion in a new INFM independent institution."
